- tasted this one at 48,5% at the Springbank virtual tasting. Pretty good, close to the 12y cs but with more buttery notes. Still noticeable as a SB, with slight peat and chalk.
- 94£ when released.
As Dana White, a famous american philosopher, once said : "If you don't know, now you know!"
- Today I'm trying this Springbank which was part of a virtual tasting session with Springbank. This sample was at 48.5%ABV. Let's see how it tastes.
Nose begins with wet earth, dark red fruits, then some farminess, then salty coastal air.
Palate, brings barley sugars, red fruits, salt, light syrup, becoming oily.
Finishes with red fruits, salt, cinnamon spice, and oiliness.
Salty breeze. Nutty (mainly walnuts). Play-doh/plasticine note. Some orchard fruits. Dust and soot.
Light, waxy mouth feel. Fruity wine notes in cheeks. Some honeyed nuts. Fruit gum.
Long. Little drying at first. Mellows out on fruits and honey with some background soot. Salinity right at the end.
