It has improved since I tried it the last time. A very good value for your money and a more than decent everyday dram.
    • Nose
      86 86
grassy with some vanilla, apples and pears, slightly floral, hints of nuts
    • Taste

creamy texture, nice vanilla, not overdoing though, the grassiness is gone, rather pastries now and a little malt. pears and sweet apple.
    • Finish
      87 87
rather long on not too sweet pastries and some nuts.

Nice but rather unspectacular. Good dram for an uncomplicated sip. You can get those for way less than 40 €, though. At this price I think it's a bit too expensive for what it is. Opens up a bit with a few drops of water.

Very light on the nose. I can't make out much more than oak wood and a light sweetness. Maybe some crushed walnut but I'm not sure. It's very secretive but overall pleasant.
    • Taste

Comes on strongly in respect to its 46 % ABV. Moderately sweet, herbs and spicy oak. A bit more fruity with a little water.
    • Finish
      80 80
Short to medium duration. Again moderately sweet, with a nice but faint vanilla touch. Slightly more bitter than I would have liked it for this.

Appearance: Pale to medium gold. Light, but not weak looking.

Nose: Citrus, honey, peaches, melon, ginger spice. Quite lovely fruit and spice. Vanilla. Bit of oak, malt sugar.

Palate: Honey, vanilla, malt sugar, ginger, light mint, citrus, oak.

    Finish: Honey and spice. Oak.

With Water: This really needs some. Tones down the burn so the flavors come out. Sweeter, fruitier, spicier. Maltier.

Overall: Subtle, spicy, fruity, with lots of honey and vanilla. Quite approachable and delicate, though it has depth that you need to work to get to.

Nose: Sugary sweet. Lightly floral, but more apparently the green apple, melon and tropical fruit. Orange zest, grapes, and sour cream. Lemon zest found in an emptied glass.

Palate: moderately rich and smooth. Melon, lemon zest and orange followed by a hint of coconut milk. Alcohol warms up the mouth slowly. Lovely acidity stimulates the tongue. Sweet, but bitterness is rather persistent. Savoury, mouth-watering with chewing.

Finish: medium to long. Oaky and creamy.

It would be more competitive with 5-10 quids off

All around impressive in it's category. Needs a good amount of time and breathing though - don't expect the first dram to reveal much. After 3-4 drams and couple of weeks it starts to turn on the charm.
Noses crisp, like clear March morning. Thawing meadows and such (to throw around some associations).
Tastewise, it's got moderate sweetness, tannins, herbal notes and there's some light toasted wood notes too.
Gets rounder and fruitier with water.
Finish is medium length with a savory touch, which is not bad for a light-profiled malt.
The form is steady - no rough edges or weird developments for me, just 10 years of decent consistent maturation.
