Lemon mint drops, cherry compote, unripe honeydew melon, green pumpkin, herbal lemonade, acacia blossoms, vanilla ice cream, cranberries. In the background fresh plums, light tobacco and orange peel. Quite inviting - beguiling would be saying too much. The alcohol is extremely well integrated. Quite complicated ... uh ... complex. Not oversherried, although almost black. Exactly the right balance between sherry barrel and distillate.
Very pleasant and tasty. Unexpectedly a lot of wood (but not too much, not bitter), lemon drops - this time without mint, but with cherries, cranberries, acacia blossoms (yes, you can eat them!), Some fresh plums and light tobacco, roasted peanuts. Very balanced again, just the right balance.
Finish: Will be different. Mainly sweet cranberries, wood (still no bitterness). Cranberry jam with little sugar, quite dry. Medium length.
Conclusion: really successful. Freed from the barrel precisely for my taste. Or perfect cola finish.
PS: The empty glass smells of peanuts and cherries.
