Interestingly different, especially for a grain.
    • Nose
      88 88
Lots of pleasant grass and earth tones, some liquorice
    • Taste
      87 87
Changes quite a bit if you hold it in the mouth for a while. Earth and grass carries over, a whaft of plowed dirt after while before it turns a bit more bitter.
    • Finish
      83 83
A bit dissapointing and short, but the earth lingers a bit.

Notes from an online blind tasting
    • Nose

The colleague starts out very fresh and very grassy. Dried herbs, like thyme, rosemary. Behind it, something like quince and rancid oil. Licorice and hints of musk. Smells a little like perfumed soap.
With a little time in the glass, the colleague becomes sweeter. Vanilla and woodruff.
    • Taste
Sweet start. Then immediately the grassy again. But it is replaced by something slightly medicinal and soapy. In the background gooseberries and light currants. Sugared herbs.
With the second sip, more grain and trail mix. With a little mocha.
    • Finish
Middle to long. Sweet wood, some mocha and the trail mix again.

wood smells a bit damp (it is probably :-) and greasy, malty with vanilla slightly floral. The taste is much better than typical older ones
grain. some coconut and glue but also fruity sherry with strawberry notes and cherry. some pastries. Slightly peppery finish. all in all a good train. actually something of cognac.

    • Nose
A bit musty, but ripe and round - very metallic and rusty, but still tastefully beautiful. I can still find some cognac notes there.
    • Taste
Round again, but this time even more cognac notes. Beautiful sweetie. Something is missing in the overall impression, more depth and breadth.
    • Finish
      Medium length

It lives up to its name
    • Nose
immediately strong caramel with vanilla and chocolate; there is an alcoholic note of glue that moves in front of the caramel again and again. There is also an ever-present fresh alcohol note; in the very background there is still a light, fruity note; after a while in the glass comes a nice, spicy sherry note with dark fruits, strong spices: tobacco; Wood, clove and brown sugar (sticky molasses)
    • Taste
      fruity than expected; Adhesive; Vanilla; Sugar cane (briefly had a touch of Caribbean rum) now comes caramel; bitter wood with a nice nuttiness;
    • Finish
again nut; slight citrus freshness, there is still a fruit note paired with light herbs. Reminiscent of a mixture of vodka and fruit brandy
