Was part of a blind tasting. is not bad, but nothing special either. In one word, inconspicuous to me.

Caramel, malt, cane sugar, oak, honey, sherry, red berries, apple. A little unbalanced and tough. Warming, slight bitterness and very little astringent. Medium body, good aroma pressure

It has a totally pleasing side: a lot of berry fruit, a mild body, plus fine oak notes. At the same time, it shows a whole series of rather idiosyncratic components in the nose and in the finish: the talky note, the lavender-flowery (although both are good for me) and at the very end I have a somewhat difficult taste. All in all, however, that still adds up to an overall experience that is still drinkable for me. Still difficult to give a score.
    • Nose
First of all: it has a subtle sulfuric impact on my nose (which I like). I also find a certain talky note. Then it becomes very pleasing: cranberries, plums, also a few sweet oranges. Heather honey. Sage and rosemary, maybe lavender leaves too. Oh what the heck, I'll just put a tiny touch of lavender soap on him. Haribo liquorice confectionery. In the second nose there are pleasant oak notes.
    • Taste
Tart dark berries. Milk coffee. Oily cocoa powder. So nice and fruity, roasted and chocolaty. Malt milk drink. In addition, here a small floral-herbaceous touch that picks up more and more speed towards the exit and then:
    • Finish
first of all lavender fabric softener, which works well here. Wild berry coulis on dark chocolate with a very high cocoa content, these tart-bitter impressions are well balanced by melty, malty impressions. I find it very mild. In the end, a lot of berry fruit remains, and there is also a difficult-to-grasp sour taste component, maybe something like sunscreen. Hmmmmm ....

Typical Linkwood starts with delicate floral notes, slightly metallic accents, honey, malt, nut butter and delicate smoke. Gradually, the fruity sherry influence comes more into play. Pickled cherries and raspberries as well as soft earthy tones.
With water: more floral and beautiful like tea roses, some dried fruit and oranges.
    • Taste
      83 83
Starts out oily and quite spicy. Pithy oak, sherry and again slightly metallic accents. Flowery notes and delicate smoke slowly follow. In contrast to the nose, the sherry does not manage to have a supportive effect and increase the complexity ... a shame.
With water: more flowery, fragrant and typical of the distillery. Juicy oranges, malt and oak follow slowly.
    • Finish
      84 84
      Medium long, fruity and sherry-tinged

    Color: amber

Nose: porridge with cherries, vanilla, oak. Simply a wonderful fruit potpurri to drop in. A bit of ginger spiciness. Toasted oatmeal, hay ,. some iodine.

Palate: great! Great start, powerful but to the point. Perfect balance, off, yeah what? Spices, dried fruits, ginger, creamy sweetness paired with herbal freshness, great!

    87 points.
