A typical grain nose. A lot of glue and although it’s in the glass for about an hour already, the glue stays quite present. As with most grains also this one is soft and sweet. It gives ripe mango, banana, licorice candy and the usual suspects like vanilla and honey. The brandy butt did add flavor but it doesn’t give a lot of thrilling new sensations. Something I did expect actually.

Sweet, very sweet. A tad bitter but friendly and subtle all the way. It offers a creamy and mature mouthfeel. A lot of toffee, honey, caramel toppings and vanilla ice cream. There is also a clear brandy taste here. It reminds me of aged genever quite a bit.

In the medium-long finish this aged genever influence continues. It becomes very grainy and quite alcoholic as well. It becomes a bit too bitter/tart. Not something I’d buy. Maybe it’s pleasant for others, to me it seems this cask has been very interesting in terms of profit mainly.
