I really would like to know what's in this blend. I can't stand it that it's right on the edge of my mind..
    • Nose
This has a pleasant and very familiar nose. I just can't get the name with it though. It is well matured, fresh, clean, sweet and with a wee sourness to it. It's very lively and playful on the nose upon arrival with a focus on a rather intense fruitiness. I get red berries, apricot and pleasant mild spices from it. After a while and with some hand warmth it develops more of it's darker smells like chocolate and dried fruits. It does have a shy dusty layer on the nose.
    • Taste
It has a nice thick and waxy body. It's very gentle and accessible. Red fruit in like strawberry and raspberry, milk chocolate and mild spices in like vanilla and a whiff of clove and with a fresh grain-like note to it. Dried herbs and toasted oak as well. A very easy going and balanced palate with beautiful old characteristics.
    • Finish
The finish is medium to long and gives mild spices, and again a rather intense fruitiness, soft red fruits and lingering oak influences.

Delicate is the right word for this whisky. Age gave it whisky a nice body, despite it's 42.7% ABV. An interesting blend for an even more fair price.

The nose is very interesting with some rich aroma's, but the taste and finish disappoint a little actually, by far not as interesting and versatile. Pretty pale too. Not worth the money.

Very fruity, dark red fruits, prunes. Licorice, oily as well. Stewed pears. Ripe fruits. Not too much alcohol. Apple sirup.
    • Taste
      85 85
Pretty smooth with a tingling mouthfeel on the tongue. Licorice, some honey, a bit of prunes. A little pale though.
    • Finish
      83 83
Smooth, some red fruit, licorice, prunes. Pretty short actually. Dies out way too soon.
