      79 79
      Pungent new leather shoes, rubber, shoe polish soon stood out. The shell of roasted chestnuts, it was also reminiscent of the local Chinese pharmacy. Pretty rough.

      Toffee, some beetroot, mandarin oranges, Chinese herbs, shoe polish and leather.
    • Finish
      80 80
      New leather shoes carried forward, little bit of dry chocolate and coffee. It's earthy and showed some characteristics of chenpi.

    (refill sherry butt) mahogany color, nose well marked sherry, well done, dark chocolate, nuts, hazelnut, leather, with water hint of red fruits, precious wood. Quite dry on the palate, chocolatey, a little roundness on the attack, drier and spicy finish, on wood tannins, very well integrated alcohol. Lack of fruit to quibble, but very well done if you like very dry / oaky sherry whiskys.

    I'm a bit disappointed because the first sip wasn't bad at all and the key data are actually correct. But there simply has to be more to offer for the price.

      Slightly unbalanced with light sulfur notes. Shortbread with dark cherries, but also too much sour wine gum.
    • Taste

      In taste he brings out a lot. Comes very creamy, sweet and with nice sherry notes, but then dives again into one-dimensional wood notes that are too strong.

      Only medium-length on the finish, very dry, with an emphasis on wood and sherry notes that fade away too quickly.

    Felt it was a little over sherried and the spirit was too malty for the combo to work for my palate. However I can see malt and fruit fans devouring this.

      Cereal-y, muesli and biscuits. Some dark cherries/chocolate from the sherry, even some ginger.
    • Taste
      Very very chewy palate with a sweet biscuit and rain mid point. Oatmeal raison cookies!
    • Finish
      Rich raisons and malt with a low and soft finish.

    I'm still working on getting my sherry chops. This has a nice balance (eg, not a sherry bomb). On the nose I just get sherry, on the palate sherry, oak, and a little dark chocolate.
