This is the 12 finished in amontillado sherry casks for 3 to 6 months. I am surprised by the impact of it. It's richer, but the typical flowery notes of the 12 are gone.
    • Nose
      81 81
Quite rich with puff pastry and apple pie with pears and caramel. Shares the sour lemon and yogurt notes of the 12, but lacks the flowery scents.
    • Taste
      81 81
Tarte tatin (apple, caramel), grapefruit and roasted peanut. A bit musty too, mushroom alike.
    • Finish
      80 80
Juicy fruits give away to a spicy dryness.

  3. Tom na Gruagaich scored this whisky 75 points Connoisseur

An extension of the 12 that robs it of its somewhat likeably raw character, but doesn't go far enough. To be really good. To be honest, it disappoints me quite a bit.
    • Nose
Sweeter and more mature on the nose than the 12. The sherry and the oak cover the rather raw character of the 12. However, he is also more reserved here. But the distillery character also comes through with Dr Zeit.
    • Taste
Quite distinctive sherry in the mouth. But an almost unpleasantly bitter note disturbs.
    • Finish
The finish is tart and peppery tingling with oak bitterness and some sherry sweetness.

  5. ffmdino did not rate this whisky Connoisseur

    Blind tasting

    interesting malt
    but did not inspire me
    • Nose
fresh, slightly sour, slightly nutty, slightly moldy increases, pear, sparkling, minimal lemon, bast / waffle?

with water: more lemon, slightly oak
    • Taste
      soft, silky, oily
nutty, slightly oak increases, slightly vanilla, waffle, slightly cardboard + milk chocolate

with water: silky, cardboard / paper (high quality / recycled?)
    • Finish
      medium long
tart, cocoa, sour so Granny Smith, then a lot of oak

  6. MonkeChef scored this whisky 86 points Expert Junior

    Great.
    • Nose
sweet, plum, cherry, vanilla, chocolate, overripe strawberry, toffee, marzipan, blackcurrant.
    • Taste
Dry, dark chocolate, cherry-strawberry, nuts in dark chocolate, bitter cocoa
    • Finish
The Long Finish is a bit drier, but the sweetness still sticks to the tongue, the notes of cinnamon and nuts in dark chocolate play the main violin, cherries, orange peel, dried plums.
