CAUTION! A really cruel taste "experience".
It is an experience though, you have to give the whisky that.

This will probably be the worst whisky I've tasted this year.

PS: Oh god, and it's only January...

So this is a real massacre. The smell is still Ok, but the taste is bad bad

The nose is it's strongest part. Nice red fruits - mostly berries with spices (clove, cinamon). Unfortunately, all positives end here.

The (after)taste is where everything goes wrong. Plums, berries, christmas spices, however, almost instantly after the arrival extremely bitter which ruins the entire experience.

The bitterness is brutal. It makes me wonder how is it that this has ever seen the light of the day as something went horribly wrong with this filling/cask, that is for sure.

Some decent port notes on the nose, aged balsamic, sherry like, some fruits, , touch of spice - cinnamon/ dried myrtle,
Looses out on the mouth feel, a little thin and harsh and the taste is dry/ bitter (not necessarily a bad thing in itself) there’s a lingering nuttiness in the finish which persists and is very pleasant. If you’ve bought a bottle, this will likely improve after a month or two of opening.

I bought that one blind while being in the distillery a month ago.

"Bunnahabhain and Port Pipe? What could go wrong?"

Holy cow...what the hell went wrong here? The nosing is very interesting. But that's it. Extremely spicy and herbal. Lots of cinnamon and exotic spices.

The taste is awful. Especially the aftertaste. I never had a whisky being that bitter and weird.

    I want a refund haha ????

I understand the anger of some people. The price to the quality is inappropriate. But, this whisky is not that bad like some people ratings.

This is a truelly weird dram. I've only tasted a sample but it's strange indeed.

The nose is fine.. fruity, sherry notes, oranges. Nothing truely complicated but nothing bad either.
    • Taste
      60 60
At first the fruity notes continue. In the front of your mouth it's actually pleasant and tasty. Cherries with caramel and lemons and oranges. Well integrated alcohol.
But when it gets to the back of your tongue a really weird unpleasent bitterness. Like eating unsugared orange peels. Not nice.
It gets a bit better after leaving it in the glass for half an hour but not much.
    • Finish
      40 40
The finish is just ugly orange peel bitterness. Too bad.

Nose: Alcohol combined with a sweet twist.
Taste: Strongly alcoholic and bitter. You can feel the youthful taste. Light paint feel. Very simple in taste.
Rating: 82 | 100 Short finish, quite alcoholic. Well, it's definitely not the best buna I've ever tried. I didn't like that whisky

  19. STL scored this whisky 86 points Expert Senior

Nice nose. Winey, oaky (almost tannic) and spicy. Unfortunately, very alcoholic and fiery. Even tamed it remains quite unbalanced
