A decent whisky, with a nice light sweetness. The Lemberger influence doesn't come through as strongly as I did with the Black Forest. He is light, restrained fruity and restrained vinous, but quite pleasing.
    • Nose
Light sweetness from a mixture of glucose and candy. In addition, light fruits, slightly sour apples, white grapes, some mango and coconut. In the background there is also the wine barrel with a slightly musty note.
    • Taste
The same bright sweetness with strong wine notes and a slight spiciness. A little bit of bitterness comes through too. It seems quite dry in the mouth. A hint of a metallic note testifies to the youth of the bottling.
    • Finish
The aftertaste is medium-long and characterized by the bright sweetness.

A little too young and little fruitiness for a strong red wine barrel.
    • Nose
      72 72
First earthy aromas. It takes some time to spot a hard-to-define fruit - maybe mango or agarve. Then honey becomes clearer. Overall, I have the impression of an old cellar in which fruits were stored.
    • Taste
      70 70
Oak with a slight bitterness is softened by a little honey. Alcoholic heat is clearly noticeable. Despite the red wine barrel, I can hardly find any fruit.
    • Finish
      68 68
Relatively short finish that becomes more bitter towards the end. As if there were still a few drops of very strong coffee in it.

Unfortunately much too young and a brand that should not bear this name - in my personal taste - compared to many good whiskey.
There are many German examples of making round whiskey with good brandy and fine wine barrels. Unfortunately, this is not one of them

Whiskey from Germany - fesslermill 1396
mettermalt whiskey VILLA HASLA, 4 years, 44.5% alc. Original bottling. Expansion: Wine barrel (Single Cask, Lemberger from the Weiberle winery)
Nose: Some fruit aromas. Grape juice, slightly crumbly apple, pear. The grapes get stronger, plus liquorice and a very mild spice, completely removed a touch of hay meadow.
Palate: Fruity and sweet, the wine barrel comes through clear and distinct. In addition bitter oak tannins without disturbing. They give off nutmeg and ginger.
Finish: Long and dry, the alcohol comes in briefly. The fruit withdraws strongly, the woody spice takes over. In addition, there are cereal flavors.
Conclusion: I am pleasantly surprised. In the finish you can feel his youth for a moment, but overall a pleasant representative of the distillery. 82/100 points (2021). I thank the distillery for the sample.
