    • Nose
      90 90
Sherry notes, only light, not intense. Red fruits, some leather.
    • Taste
      93 93
Creamy, suddenly surprising coffee notes. The alcohol is not really noticeable, so it is very well integrated.
    • Finish
      92 92
The coffee note remains in the finish. Something
      Orange zest. Quite long.

    • Nose
      90 90
Chrysanthemum tea after breathing for 2 weeks
Rich and charming roasted coffee, chocolate, fried almond. Dried prune, raisin. Fresh lemon zest. Hay. Followed by apple if you keep sniffing. Black pepper, more from the top of the glass rim. Sherry sour note from the bottom. As well as a bit of leather and earth. Hay after a sip.
    • Taste
      89 89
Fruity black tea, Cherry, cranberry, pepper,
      lots of dark fruits
Followed by mild woody note, a bit bitter
Light orange, more about the zest
      Dark chocolate towards the end
      Med body
    • Finish
      88 88
      Orange jam, citrus zest
      Vanilla, cinnamon
      Light tannin
      Light bitter sweet woody note.
Special tea from nosing hit-back after a minute or two, interesting

    Nose:
The nose is far gentler and more elegant than that of the 2009 soft sherry notes, maple syrup, chocolate, vanilla, light mint note, raisins, slightly leathery, cocoa, blackberries.

    Taste:
Goes down like oil, super smooth, dark chocolate, light oak notes, cocoa, very sweet berry compote, cranberries, powidl

Finish: forever long and a perfect sherry feeling. Starts again with dark berries, followed by dark chocolate and espresso, oak is wonderfully integrated, cookie dough.

  4. whisky_garage scored this whisky 89 points Expert Junior

Aroma: concentrated, sweet. Dark berries, dried fruits, spices.
We stood and breathed .... Apricot, leather goods, confectionery, dried cherries, slightly rotten fruits, shades of mint.
Taste: rich, dense, enveloping, sweet. Lots of dark berries, peaches, apricot pits, latte, cappuccino, creamy notes, chocolate shades, a little ginger, wood.

Finish: long, sweet - salty, slightly pungent. Dried fruits, coffee notes, milk chocolate, pepper, barrel.

Conclusion: A well-formed and mature whisky that has a good palette of flavors and aromas. The barrel worked wonderfully.
With such a whisky you want to sit and chat. This whisky is thirsty, not finished.

Intense sherry whisky yes, but a sherry bomb rather no. Has a good harmonic line. The fruit flavors could be a bit stronger for me. But doesn't diminish the very good impression.
    • Nose
      87 87
Typical sherry malt start, dark, almost overripe fruit of cherries, berries, plums and raisins. Fine chocolate and leathery notes come through well. There are also some roasted nuts with black tea. Slightly bitter and spicy on the nose. With a little time, nut flavors become a little stronger. The alcohol also seems to be well integrated for me, despite the almost 58%.
    • Taste
      88 88
Peppery and hot with spicy wood notes.
Pleasant interplay between oranges, dark berries, raisins and plums and a sweet chocolate.
Light notes of roasted almonds and nuts also come through.
A nice, full, creamy, oily mouthfeel develops. The fruits and the sweetness change to cocoa and a slight bitterness.
    • Finish
      85 85
Medium to long finish, dark chocolate, coffee and still slightly sweet and the bitterness continues to decrease.

Nose: plums, cinnamon, lots of sweet sherry, raisins.
Taste: Also very good taste. Lots of fruit sweetness with an addition of cinnamon, cocoa and dried elements. Some chocolate. Alcohol completely hidden.
Rating 88|100 Quite long finish with a coffee bean flavor.

He's all right. He could use a tick of more fruit. It's not bad now, but it wasn't really convincing either.
    • Nose
Sherry, of course. Tart raisins. Blueberry. Tobacco and leather. Smoked wood. Roasted nuts and some bread. The alcohol tickles my nose a little. But it gets better after the first sip. Some menthol.
    • Taste
Grape juice. Fruit tea with rock sugar. Toasted notes. Briefly a few floral echoes. A couple of roasted almonds. Chocolate. Cocoa. The alcohol is now well integrated in the mouth.
    • Finish
Sour wild berries. Black tea. It's getting bitter. Cinchona bark.
