Old school sherry expression - very good
    • Nose
      90 90
Coffee, toffee galore, brown sugar, molasses, toasted bread, dried fruits, plums, prunes, raisins - very good
    • Taste
      90 90
Oily, creamy, subtle sweetness, more dried fruits, more toffee, cedarwood, whiffs of cigar tobacco, sherry wood - still good
    • Finish
      89 89
Medium long, warm, dark chocolate, not drying

Wax fruits toffee spices obe, a nice one maybe a tad weak

A whisky with melted and well balanced aromas. Very easy to drink with this mix of fruits
    • Nose
Immediately waxy and very fruity: a beautiful complex and melted mixture of yellow fruits with a little exoticism (pineapple) and citrus. It is very sweet, a bit sweet, but really top on the fruity.
    • Taste
Again, like the nose, there are many fruits but the OBE is much more marked with this small metal side, a little spicy and ultra-melted flavors. In the middle of the mouth, it evolves towards a hint of smoke, pencil lead, and coffee with milk.
    • Finish
      Long, fresh, minty

    Dangerously drinkable.

I still really like this particular bottling.
    • Nose
At first nosing it is not very expressive and closed. I would describe it as delicate.
    • Taste
I get cough medicine, dark treacle with a little butter toffee. Quite sweet on toffee, honeycomb, a little orange. That's it werthers original`s in liquid form. Gets sweeter as time goes on.
    • Finish
Warming but a little shorter than you would want.

This Benromach has this typical G&M Brown Label character. Probably a lot of old sherry casks were used for these batches.
    • Nose
Starts with lots of dried fruits. Coffee. Caramel. But also orange peel and some grassy notes. Something of burnt wood at the background. Cough sweets. It's definitely an old skool nose which is extinct nowadays.
    • Taste
Unexectedly strong and spicy. Salty first and then developing in more bitterness of grapefruit. You don't believe that this is just 40%. Overripe apple. Brown sugar.Dark chocolate. Ginger.
    • Finish
Not that long. Dry. A little pepper and nutmeg. Liquorice.
