Whisky Reviews for Granville 2000 MBa

7 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 88.27 points

The aroma seems nice, but lacks integrity, constantly annoying some extra notes. And then uncompromisingly rich, bright and delicious. The aroma takes time and it adds significantly.
    • Nose
      88 88
Citrus, fruit, vanilla, salty pastries, meat notes, mineral, slightly sulfurous, notes of sauerkraut, sea salt, herbal, chocolate truffle, oak, notes of paint / acetone, nuances of yeast bread.
    • Taste
      91 91
Juicy sweet citrus, pepper, raisins, mineral.
    • Finish
      91 91
Pepper, the same sweet juicy citrus with a noticeable acidity and bitterness of grapefruit, long, dogwood jam, tea, mineral.

20 year old Clynelish by Maltbarn (Martin Diekman). On the Granville label, as in one of his previous releases).
Three and a half years ago, Martin bought a 16.5 year old Clynelish cask (according to the records it is written by Highland Malt, but
There is no doubt this is Clynelish) with the idea of pouring both half buns at the same time when they are 20 years old, which is reflected on the labels ("black and white" or "yin and yang").
The first half of the barrels was matured in a sherry barrel for an additional 3.5 years and bottled for Ukrainian maltbar fans.
The second half barrels are fully matured in a bourbon barrel and bottled for the Ukrainian whisky club "Double Whisky". Both publications are available in a limited edition of 100 bottles each

Closed dry nose without development. Alcoholic in places. It is necessary to pull everything out with vise and time ...
The taste is good, spicy, complex.
The finish is simultaneously tannic astringent, pleasant and spicy in different shades,
When mixed with the "Ukrainian fans fingerprint"-Granville 2000 MBa - 1 / 2 (where 2 is the Ukrainian trace + the secret ingredient) gives a good (great) whisky reminiscent of good sherry samples of Refil cask or a real good old Clynelish.

In the breathing bottle, the taste is simplified. Has become flatter.
