Nose

77 77

A dry nose with bourbon influences. Vanilla and sweet malt. Notes of lemon and pineapple. And there is a tiny hint of raisins.

Taste

Again vanilla complemented by bourbon. A smoky note afterwards. Barley notes with grainy biscuits. Spicy notes of cinnamon, ginger and oak.

Finish

Medium-long and dry. Notes of oak, barley and hop.

Not saying this is a bad whisky but to my palate there is little in the way of elegance here. It's complex and mouth filling but it's a bit harsh around the edges. An atypical speyside, more like an old fashioned highlander. Smoker than expected.
