Quite a decent and interesting dram. Don't have much experience with Ord, but this is promising.
With a drop of water it opens up beautiful!
    • Nose
      88 88
Sweet and fruity. A bit restless at first. Clearly the bourbon influences are here. There is vanilla, fudge and some cream.
In the background there is some marzipan and freshly cut grass.
    • Taste
      88 88
Sweet and tasty, nice and oily. Gives me a good layer on the tongue. There is vanilla, marzipan and a bit of unripe tangerines in here.
    • Finish
      87 87
Medium length. A tad bitter and dry note, yet again nice sweet notes, and some sour notes. A little citrus.

Steady dram, nice ripe citrus fruits, green. In taste some peach as well. The Abv suits very well, not punching at all, but far from thin, nice sparkling mouthfeel.
    • Nose

Fresh, ripe citrus fruits, grassy. Plants. Far away away a whiff of burnt nuts. Pretty full scent.
    • Taste
      87 87
Quite some sparkle, citrus, grassy, vegetal. Pretty full body, some sweetness as well, Haribo-like. A touch of peach. Pretty thick structure.
    • Finish
      86 86
More smooth now, a lot of citrus and grassy notes again. Haribo-like candy in finish as well. Some peach, pretty long.

My first Glen Ord. To me it seems the historic distillery with an equally significant industrial presence is overshadowed by the recent Singleton moniker. Hopefully this one shows what Ord is all about.

And this is quite nice. Slightly grassy with nice sour peach & lemon notes. However this do not feel like a first fill Bourbon barrel. More like a second fill in its taste. It gets spicier in the finish, but I think this is a great opening for tasting sessions, or even as an apertif. Also quite nice texture.
    • Nose
Peaches, grass, oranges & lemons, hint of smoke, some bread dough
    • Taste
Oily-creamy in texture, lemon candies, white peppers, almonds, some green leaves
    • Finish
Spicy, slightly grassy, lemon peel, hint of smoke, average in length

Glenod 10 years obtained by vial Is this Purfil Bourbon???

Nose: The sweetness of the fruit is amazing. Lemon + Sugar? The kick is pretty good too. It seems that there is also a malty box in the distance, but I only felt it for a moment.

Palette: Easy to drink body, sweet and sour + herbal feel a bit annoying. It is not soft on the throat and there is a feeling of hitting. After eating a little, it definitely had a savory and salty taste.

Finish: Medium, but tannins last for a long time. It's pretty long, but something is missing.

Overall Review: What would have happened if you had given up your preconceived notions of Glen Oud and drank it? A cup with a bad balance that makes you think.

It's easy to eat, but it doesn't go down your throat. Even though the nose felt sweet citrus, an alcoholic kick came and hit the nose, showing a deep impression.

It's like eating moderately cool and sweet dongchimi noodles, and a big red pepper powder keeps getting stuck in your front teeth. What am I saying?

My total score is 83 points.
