Whisky reviews for Tobermory 1994 HQSW

One user has left 2 reviews for this whisky. Average rating is 85.75 points.

  1. wisekyofcourse scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

a basic whisky that shows that the time is there just to improve the juice 'aquae vitae'.
    • Nose
      88 88
fine rancio, on mould, earth, black radish, lemon, vegetal, slightly minty artichoke
iodine without salt, like on a seaside with iodine lessened by gusts of wind.
a little candied orange in return
    • Taste
      88 88
varnish, glue, soap put on a wet glove, traces of resin, varnish
woody, on wood wax, the soap still comes back, from the floor varnish
the sudden bitterness, it's spicy, peppery, the sensation of vegetal artichoke; the fruits on the bitter orange peel.
    • Finish
      85 85
not very complex, but quite long in fact
velvety bitterness, cereal, vegetable, pastry limit without sugar.
a cask that gave everything and could not give more, which reveals the markers of the distillery.

    nose:
spicy, woody and velvety, toasted cereals
    ask to ask
    blocked:
peppery spices that denature a little
then over time, woodiness, a little fine smoke, it's well toasted, pastry, on the crème brûlée, it becomes soft, almost syrupy, soft caramel, very buttery
the fruits are on the compote of the orchard, candied, undifferentiated.
    final:
quite long, the peppery spice mixes with the bitterness of the almond shell, sweet, toasted too,
    more interesting than it looks!
