Whisky Reviews for Ardbeg 14-year-old MoM

- In the past few years Ardbeg has released a number of sherry finished malts with no age statement. First there was the exceptional Dark Cove...then came Blaack. Both are superb malts if you like sweet burnt sugar floating through a stream of Ardbeg smoke. Wee Beastie is a 5-year old in a rather young form with the same ingredients in different balance. Or maybe not coming together as well but nonetheless an exceptional value for money. And then there are these two Darkness independent beauties, this 47.7%ABV and the 52.3%. The former is an exceptional melding of the traditional Ardbeg qualities with a deep rich brown sugar sweetness that is sherried and viscous. It has great depth. I thought Dark Cove was the best of this style but this Darkness bottling puts it to shame.
- Instead of arrrrrdbeg normal ardbeg. 22.5-22.5-22-22
