A hell of a gamble by the WhiskyNerds who, up until now, have mostly bottled proven commodities
    • Nose
Sweet, menthol and chalky makes for an interesting combination. I get red apple skin, apfelstrudel and a whiff of nectarine. A touch of honey too, as well as sweethearts (the candy) and even some breakfast tea. Very pleasant.
    • Taste
An oily mouthfeel, followed by a slightly spicy arrival (white pepper mainly). Fairly fruity, but not overtly so. A hint of peach and nectarine, as well as clementines. Touches of polished oak too, underpinned by gingerbread.
    • Finish
Medium. Sweet barley water and a light fruitiness.

It was awful until many months after the bottle was opened. I'm not gonna update the score here as it's inconsistent to my scoring methodology.

Smoky stewed pears, pomelo peel, mung beans, chamomile tea with goji berries started emerging a few minutes into the tasting. Pears became crunchy and acted more like not-so-sweet Asian pears. Throughout the nosing, the two main components pears and citrus peel did not change much and were quite dull. Stainless steel was added in the second tasting.
    • Taste
      86 86
Honey stewed pears, spicy banana peels, white peppers, sweet mung bean puree, peaches, then there was green tea and finally citrus zest.
    • Finish
      84 84
Iron, slightly spicy citrus zest that lasted for quite a few seconds until bitter woody notes came in, together with a bit of pith and resin.
