The nose is wonderfully fruity and this Inchmurrin feels older than the Loch Lomond 12 (which it is not of course), as it seems less malty. It also has a nice creamy mouthfeel and is well balanced too.
    • Nose
Quite fruity straight away. Red apples, sweet pears and peach. A very faint hint of nutmeg and cinnamon, but it’s there. Then a lemon note. A drop of honey and caramel fudge.
    • Taste
Also rather fruity, with peach again, but also oranges here. A hint of creamy vanilla. Caramel fudge. Honey as well. A touch of black pepper.
    • Finish
Short to mid-long with caramel, a hint of toffee and black pepper here too.

Appearance: Deep golden orange to amber.

Nose: Big pot still spices and intensely fruity. Crisp malt, lemon, apple, pear. Very Irish feel. Vanilla and caramel. Hint of ginger.

Palate: Oak, light smoke, spices, ginger, cardamon, apple, light stone fruit, caramel, vanilla. Very unique for a Scotch single malt.

Finish: Vanilla crème, pepper, ginger, oak, pot spices, caramel.

With Water: Bigger fruit. More stone fruit.

Overall: Comes across more as Irish than Scotch in some ways. Wonderfully spiciness, but great malt too. A very nice sipper for a good price.

Where else can you find something (somewhat) reminiscent of Littlemill for less than 50 euro?
    • Nose
Initially some faint oak shavings, but we quickly descent into creamy vanilla, red apples, peach and mango. It has some grassy notes too, as well as a touch of breakfast cereals.
    • Taste
There's that fruity Inchmurrin arrival that's definitely in the same ballpark as those older Littlemill, albeit with a little less depth. Peaches, pink grapefruit and bitter oranges, but also nutmeg, cloves and a whiff of honey.
    • Finish
Oak spices, orange pith. Finally a touch of milk chocolate. Medium in length.

A nice malt that you like to drink. It seems to me a bit more defined than the previous version, with a slight "Campbeltownness".
    • Nose
sweet, fruity, citrus and above all orange, musty, but somehow fresh and youthful. Well.
    • Taste
Rounder and more harmonious as expected. Full and malty, fruity.
    • Finish
The finish also rather light and round, orange notes, citrus, sweetness, a bit tingling and then a little bitter oak at the end.
