Hey, I liked that a lot! Not as sweet as I expected him to be, but he scored with me with tart and woody notes. In terms of taste, it continued with the aromas from the nose and the 55.8% are well embedded, I don't need any water to enjoy it - WOW! But I did try some water, which doesn't harm him, but doesn't tease him out any new flavors either. Great malt.
    • Nose
A heavy sweetness, sherry and also marsala flavors. In addition, clear aromas of dried fruit, especially sultanas and plums, but also nuts and nougat.
    • Taste
Sweet, but of the tart kind. In addition fresh wood, some sawmill and a bit of bazooka chewing gum. Then very "masculine" leather and cute pipe tobacco notes.
    • Finish
Quite a long finish, warm and heavy. In the end it becomes drier in the mouth and some oak. At the very end, the nougat note announces itself again with marzipan in tow.

PX Sherry Quarter Cask fully matured?

    Yes, please!

This is really great, fantastic substance, less sweet than expected, but spicy, raisin-like, woody, resinous, spices a pleasant astringent bitterness, chocolate, mocha, espresso, cookies.

This malt is different, but no less good. This is a kind of hybrid between old style Glen Els and new style Glen Els / Elsburn. And I really like that.

99 EUR is really okay for such a rare special bottling, single cask, individually numbered bottles, cask strength, top quality.

Why do I have a Zappa catchy tune in my head now? : D
