    3. tasting, end of October 2016:

    what a development!

    Finally the sweetness is opened up in a wonderfully kind:

    red berries, honey, pralines (…) bring all flavours to a great mix -

    much better than the first two tastings - just overwhelming!

    And the cocoa notes give a constantly cover in the background.

    Also coffe ground appears now!

    Completely round, full bodied, aromatic - HP at it's best!

    Now (… for the moment … :-) 94/100.

    Very good (… when the bottle is open for some months …) !
    • Nose
      Mineral, citrus, oranges, apricot jam,

      peat in combination with forest aromas,

      tart & sweet jams - mixed with lots of honey (btw: intense HP honey is always in combinations with the other flavors!),

      Demerara, mint, tobacco, cocoa powder, brandy beans & pralines.
    • Taste
      BIG eruption of fullness, aroma, spiciness,warmth & sweetness!

      Honey variations;

      sweetness of:

      honey, fruits, Demerara, tropical fruits, dark chocolate;

      fruit brandies, Rumtopf, wonderful citrus, wood, Marmelade, Bergamot, hints of BBQ, light smoke, charred branches, maltiness;

      creamy moth feeling, old upholstery, leather, tobacco leaves, cocoa powder, hints of lightning hose, herbs, conifer forest;

      mallow tea.
    • Finish
      Fruit brandies, wood, smoke, Demerara, slightly bitter, pepper, dry leaves, forest and coniferous, salt, aftertaste of Rumtopf and dark chocolate and honey, coconut shell, roasted almonds, Rucola -

      behind all these aromas always fruit sweetness!

      2. sip: peppered cherry jam, old wet cleaning rags, sweet Rum, dark cereals (direction bread), fresh Parasol mushrooms, dark cake with raspberries.

    Very good Whisky which developed in the bottle after being opened for about two months.

    Tasting with Armin Fuchs.
    • Nose
      Mineral notes at first together with hot and strongly alcoholic plums, oily citrus aromas, oranges and honeycombs.

      Honey-malt, apricot-orange marmalade, medicinal chest, old upholstery.

      The peat is there together with French Brandy and forest aromas as well as pine needle extracts.

      Hints of tart and sweet jams, tropical fruits and then wonderful honey - everything is mixing up after a few minutes and almost everything is combined with different sweet honey notes: Chamomile tea (brewed too long ), bakery, cherry jam, forest aromas (pine forest), coastal mineral notes, disinfectant ...

      Some tobacco (slightly caramelized pipe tobacco), scouring powder, Demerara sugar, some mint, rum raisins, sweetened Earl Grey, old pantry, hints of cocoa powder develop into noble tart chocolate which is getting more and more - later the (malty) chocolate is a natural part deep in the casks ...

      Marmalade-Cognac pralines, faint hints of Chili con Carne, authentic apple fruit liquor, crabs.
    • Taste
      Tart smokiness and citrus in the beginning together with brine and coastal notes.

      Honey-marmalade sweetness - getting more (in the realm of citrus), malt, more honey and honeycomb, sweet marmalade/honey/Cognac at the rough beach, old desk, old upholstery, old books, hints of Bergamotte, some bakery.

      Malt-chocolate with orange liqueur-filling, some old and soft casks but also tart and spicy ones.

      Here the peat is slightly 'green' and feeling old with seaweed, mud, seashells, some brine and hints of ink. There are also forest aromas in the character ...

      Old dried beef, summer dress of an old lady, ancient pantry, the sweetness is continuous.

      Overall warm and glowing atmosphere ...
    • Finish
      Old and salty casks, honey, some leather with alcohol pralines (cherry liquor), chocolate, tart wooden closets, some oak, malt/apricot/wood/leather, something meaty, 'wooden puree' with honey and oatmeal, cherry jam, light and moist cigarette tobacco, ginger-honey, some of tomato sauce, some barks and pine needles and pine cones, quite some herbs.
