Whisky Reviews for Glen Scotia 18-year-old
5 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 83.55 points
- Beautiful balanced Campbeltown malt that knows how to please.
Color: Yellow Gold;
Scent: Nice sweetness accompanied by grassy notes complemented by malt and light fruits (peaches and pineapple). Very round and balanced. In the background sherry and a delicate pinch of salt;
Taste: sweet and fruity. Soon pepper is added and becomes malty. This sweetness always remains present. Later sprinkled a dash of sherry over it;
Finish: again sweet, malty, fruity. A nice oak flavor appears.
- For an 18-year-old, it brings relatively little complexity, but significant wood influences. Those who like it will certainly find better grades.
A little light grapes, green apple, light citrus notes, some vanilla, hazelnut.
Very dry with clear oak, little fruit and sweetness, clearly bitter notes, towards the end some leather and tobacco, fermented tea.
The wood also dominates in the finish, musty earth and leather, a little liquorice.
