Out of all these trillions new clearly youngish NAS releases this one is ok, but the price is ridiculous
    • Nose
      82 82
heavier sherry influence than in those regular ones, more raisins and vanilla, hazelnut oil
    • Taste
      81 81
orange jam, sweet smoke and chocolate, coffee and carmel, lacks body though
    • Finish
      82 82
      fruity tobacco and cinnamon

Highland Park Dragon Legend (43.1%). Got a bottle cheap from Waitrose - £30 - in May 2019. At this price, the silly marketing sort of makes sense. What I find hard to believe is that people are paying hundreds for the top end of these valhalla-orc blood-dragon juice whiskies. Aroma has some cheap 'sherry seasoning' thinness, bourbon toffee, saturated oak, comes across as actually quite woody. Taste is peppery burnt spice and smoke all the way through, a little more peated than HP generally, faint touches of the cheapest sherry and vanilla in the background, nice oaky linger. There's plenty of oak character here which is very pleasant alongside the peat, but this is thinned out by that cheap corner-cutting sherry seasoned vibe, which is almost tart and always discordant. No age statement but you can tell it's not young. Very drinkable and perfectly enjoyable, but nothing special. At £30 I do not feel cheated, but I wish I had spent that money on something else. 3.2/77

The aroma came to me oochen, just super, the balance of different types of barrels is matched my compliments! If you equate the forehead with Valkyrie, the aroma is a cut higher. Well, in general, it is very tasty, this scale went perfectly, if it is possible to take the Central Bank at a good price list. The vector in terms of design was chosen of course chic, this whole Viking theme, design, looks cool.

Aroma: sweet, honey, dark raisins, dried fruit for the uzvar, planed wood, rosin varnish. After standing for a while, vanilla, butter dough, malt sweetness, candied fruit, orange confiture. A haze somewhere in the distance is barely perceptible.

Taste: apple jam, zest and spices, raisins, burnt bread, pleasant oak bitterness, ash.

Finish: mimics the taste, drier and more oaky, adds salt, minerality, soot, medium length, delicate.

    Score: 85

Bottom line: against the background of a very pleasant, complex aroma, the rest of the components lagged behind a little, especially the taste, turned out to be rustic. But again, for the US release, this is a very good result, you can feel a good selection of barrels and balance, for me it is comparable in quality to their old 12-year-old.

Aroma : dried appricots, raisins, hazelnut, cinnamon, sweet peaty touch

    Well-done aromas

Palate : dried fruits, cinnamon peat
    Good complexion for 43%

Quite nice caramelized sesame finish hint

    Great value!
If reinforced a bit on ABV side and a pair of years in the cask would be great whisky.

Aroma: ripe orange notes and sweet smoke. With chocolate, toffee and spices.

Taste: Powerful and full-bodied on the tongue. The smoke combines with a certain sweetness of toffee and caramel. With sherry.

Finish: Medium long and smoky sweet. Milk chocolate and nuts finish off.
