First of all a wonderful sweetness with intense fruitiness comes over you. Very aromatic and full of hints of cotton candy. Nice fruit puree with pear and citrus. The acid can be felt here and there and alternates with honey notes. You really don't want to stop sticking your nose into the glass. The longer you enjoy the fragrance, you can guess a fine, delicate smoky note ... but is really hardly present.
In the mouth you notice more of the smoke, much more present but still very mild. The sweetness of the cotton candy now lays on the tongue, then you get a nice fruit acid and with the smoke a fine wood flavor. I am very surprised and would have thought a much more restless whisky when I was 6 years old. Drinking strength makes it very balanced. The palate feeling is very pleasant and the interplay is retained, sweetness and acidity with spice alternate nicely. Apple, as the name suggests, plays only a small role here, but sweet fruits play a role even more. Pear compote, candied fruits. That would be my direction.
Medium length and very pleasant and interesting due to the smokiness.
