Really very appealing "old style" Glen Els ähhhh Elsburn I mean of course.
Mild, no frills, balanced, spicy, fruity, full of caramel, a little vanilla, the finest oak.
All in all, a totally successful composition, which unfortunately (due to the relatively long storage time for the resin) want to be missing the corners and edges that are still there at 5 or 6 yo.
In my opinion this malt is almost a little above the optimum ripeness, but that is definitely a matter of taste and there will be those who say "oh well, 4 years longer in the barrel would have been good for him, because only then would he be 12".
I don't care about age and when I think of the old Woodsmoked Banyuls they were 5 yo and on top.
Nevertheless, you can get hold of 2 bottles and it tastes fantastic.
Very reasonably priced (it is and remains a SC CS OA), plus a no-frills and beautifully designed cardboard box.
This is not something for over-collectors (no wooden box, no frills), but for selectors like me, who like to have a full and an opened bottle and unfortunately no longer have endless shelf space :-)
