It starts with the finest sherry in an elegant and fruity way. Appears more sedate on the nose and a little older than the 14 years suggest. Respect, a good fresh or young Oloroso was selected. He gets all the delicious nouns of the light sherry world from me. So with my nose first, I'm very satisfied. He tolerates water well and nothing bothers him. You can sniff this dram all evening. I'm curious what to expect on the palate. He gets a whopping 88 for the nose. Very extra. High recognition value. High level. By the way, it should be mentioned that the empty glass still smells like delicious chocolate cookies after hours. Really very fine.

Ok, on the palate it looks a bit thin, alcoholic and thus delivers a powerful start. When you collect saliva, it immediately becomes creamy and full-bodied. As soon as you can find your way around, he turns left into the bitter corner. Wood spreads across the palate and dries the mouth. In the process, it increasingly loses itself from the wonderfully sweet but also mild texture into an alcoholic lack of taste. But only for a moment. It's a shame, the palate didn't quite hold out what the nose promised. In the transition it goes briefly towards herbal schnapps. But still on the good side thanks to the wonderfully nutty effect. I just didn't expect that. I have to say that it is a versatile and independent malt. Very special, ... you have to like it.
I like that. Tip: He needs time and some water. -
In the middle finish, even more drying and pleasantly spicy and sweet. For a moment he seems to come back again. It's a shame, too little. Unfortunately not sustainable. What remains is a dried out woodshed with lots of sawdust on the floor. A wispy, ashy trail of smoke hangs in the air. Disenchantment looms. I would have expected more to leave. Fact: He is clearly a better decision than his 3 year older brother. Because the wine finish of the 17 failed, period. The 14 is clearly the better malt. Now I have another problem
the PLV. Sorry, but why does this bottle have to cost € 100 now?
... 70 € ok, but not more. In any case, it will have a place on my shelf. Also because he is an "eye catcher". Uwe, ... thank you!
