I find it interesting. Despite just 40%, he got off to a good start. The sherry characteristics come out well, although for me it has a foreign note in the finish that I cannot precisely define. Since he has no age, I assume a very young (3-5 years) whiskey. The foreign grade can be the cause.

An interesting smell that reminds me more of single malt than bourbon, blindly I would have guessed a Scottish standard single malt with a high sherry content.
In the mouth, however, this is definitely a bourbon, probably high in corn because it's very sweet. I only notice the sherry influence weakly. But it tastes good, very tasty and pleasing.
The finish is a bit meaningless, but without mistakes.

An interesting mix: American bourbon matured in sherry casks in Germany. The mix knows how to please. It's not a complexity monster and the finish is a bit fleeting, but I enjoy drinking this whiskey.
    • Nose
Definitely sherry, behind it a bit musty, old wood, wet wood, earth, some wood, dark cherry, chocolate, I no longer notice the musty after a while, becomes sweeter, some vanilla in the background
    • Taste
Mild attack, popcorn, oak, vanilla, caramel, fruity sweetness, red berries removed
    • Finish
warm, slightly sharp on the back palate, sweet, vanilla, popcorn, a hint of sour cherries, hardly any oak, medium length

The whiskey is awesome... I've often approached German schnapps distillers who "also" produce whiskey... Such whiskeys often taste of pomace, you just notice the fruit schnapps and it's usually mega expensive... NOT HERE, quite the opposite: the whiskey impresses with a beautiful quality Aroma of cherries, you definitely notice the barrel, but you also notice that it's not malt, but bourbon.... the taste is also full of cherries and strawberries, very light notes of wood, surprisingly long finish. Great whiskey and absolutely reasonable in price, unlike most "colleagues" from German fruit distilleries... Clear recommendation, very interesting whisky

4 years in American white oak,
    6 months PX sherry barrel.

    Nice bourbon aroma,
    sweet, mild, tasty.

    It's actually quite interesting.
    American Style ...
