Whisky Reviews for Ardbeg Blaaack
3 users have left a review for this whisky and scored it an average of 87.97 points
- It provides a remarkable sense of smell and delicious taste, accompanied by enough Ardbeg expectation for me to drink, with enough strength and attraction. It's extraordinary. It's different. Ardbeg
- Nice nose, but the texture is extremely woolly and odd.
Very fruity, ripe pears and apples, strong medicinal notes, camphor, a bit of ashes, campfire, smoked vanilla, good does of brine, light lemon oils. Nothing winey here, fortunately.
Really woolly! Very surprising. Closed up, soft texture, must be those sheep on the box. I've never tasted anything like this. After coming out of the worst wool, there's some sharp tannins and very vague wine notes showing up along with light medicinal notes and brine. Second chew brings a little more smoke, light ginger, liquorice root, black pepper, very light chili pepper, light cane sugar sweetness, but the wool is still coating everything. Third chew is thicker, oilier, almost like jelly on the tongue now, some toffee and ripe banana notes, and finally the wool has worn off a bit. Not what I hoped for in this whisky.
Brine, lemon oils, camphor, smoke, ginger, light chili pepper, black pepper, grape skins, very light ripe banana.
