Dried and smoked sweet and sour plum. I can feel the powder on the dried fruits from the years. Plum juice, nice old wood. Vinegar. Sweet and sour pork. Huawei, Ribena, unripe sour apples. I cannot believe it's only aged in bourbon barrel. Not much change but elegant, rich and impressive. More ripe loquat and light tobacco after a sip.

Creamy chocolate with raisin. Richer after 2sec. The turns into apple and pear. Grape tannin. Dried cranberry. Some interesting fruity smokiness.
    • Finish

Rambutan, dried longan, loquat. Mango skin. Fruit salad. Pleasant woody smokiness.

Super balanced, fruity and successful. No false notes.
Oddly, I have a few sherry notes on a Bourbon barrel.

Superb nose on the wrapped fruit of camphor.
      Blackcurrant, currant, cranberry. Apricot, peach.
Light leather, wood. Very well integrated floral side. Pot pourri.
      Chocolate, Kirsch. Licorice.

In the mouth we continue on the balance of the nose. It's almost light despite the 50.4%.
Fruit salad. Vanilla sugar. Toffee and caramel. Butter cookie. Light peppermint.
    • Finish
      90 90
Long finish on the yellow fruit wrapped in camphor. Pepper mint. Wood, cocoa bitterness.

An excellent aged Glengoyne that represents the best quality bourbon aged malts in the good good old time
    • Nose
Pure, explosive grapes, thick caramel, ripe mangos, dried prunes. A wonderfully aged bourbon matured malt, robust and oily.
    • Taste
Immediately sweet, with lovely beeswax, then some grape skins, bitter orange skins, fresh cut herb extracts, fresh grape juices, prunes. Overall, the palate is rather dark and complex, match the noses, but a bit okay for my taste.
    • Finish
Medium, spicy, cinnamon, bitter herbs, dark chocolates

This one caught me by surprise, especially coming from a bourbon glengoyne. Absolutely mindblowing whisky. They don't make them like this anymore :(

serge Colour: gold. Nose: this one is far from being austere whisky of course but it
does smell a little austere after the exuberant ‘Exclusive’. More on grapefruit
skins, a little shoe polish, candle wax, even a little cardboard… The good news
is that a few minutes of breathing do open it, unleashing muscatty and citrusy
notes. Tangerines, bitter oranges… A faint chalkiness in the background (dried
clay). Also funny notes of fruit jelly (freshly opened pack of Haribo bears,
remember?). Mouth: we’re much closer to the Exclusive now. It’s almost the same
whisky, just a tad oomphier. Finish: same comments. Maybe added hints of pear
drops, which is unusual in old malts according to my experience. Comments: high
quality fruity old Glengoyne once again.
