The range also includes post-maturation in white wine, red wine, sherry barrels, it is available in smoky and pure form. Great for beginners!
The appearance is always the same in the familiar bottle. The respective finish (unfortunately the legendary 10.yo Chardonnay is never available). Each one has its color, the portcask is purple.
The malts are all relatively young, the finish clear, that is, if you like the port, you can easily try your way through all sorts of port wine maturations and finishes
Very fruity, berries, berries, berries. A basket of berries, blackberries and blueberries, malty, sweet, there is a hint of a citrus fruit, somewhere between lemon and orange juice, this gets stronger over time, with the berries the blueberry is increasingly gaining the upper hand
Unfortunately, despite 40%, the alcohol is always present, not dramtic, vanilla very softly in the background
Very soft in the mouth, full of the dark berries, in comparison the mouth is fruity but less malty, pleasantly soft, alcohol is better integrated than in the nose, very nice. I miss some barrel flavors
In the finish, the port cask surprises me, quite medium, fruity and a delicate bitterness, possibly European oak involved? In any case, very pleasant, the fruit stays astonishingly long. Nicely done; very solid for this price
