  1. Joint86 scored this whisky 86 points Expert Junior

Interesting whisky with a nice complex nose. Taste and finish behind.
    • Nose
      87 87
Soft, thin. In the foreground are dried fruits, citrus fruits, flowers. In the background are iodine, minerals, a light haze.
Having stood, reveals wine and sherry aromas
    • Taste
      86 86
Oily, enveloping. Sweetness, spices turning into bitterness.
    • Finish
      86 86
Middle. Astringent. The oak barrel is most strongly felt. Other shades are not remembered

  2. Mannix65 scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Springbank and wine barrel actually always works - despite the small age
    • Nose
dry campfire smoke, the red wine is already clearly recognizable and well integrated, light dirty sulfur notes, tobacco, grape pomace - with water it is fruity and balanced, vanilla is audible
    • Taste
the red wine-smoke combination is even more present than in the nose, pure peppery and spicy - with a little water, it also offers red grapes and currant jelly, is much sweeter
    • Finish
smoky, dry, sweet - relatively long with noticeable tannins

  4. ffmdino did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

not for the smoke that covers too much, with water, the smoke is stronger
    • Nose
slightly smoke, some vanilla becomes stronger, earth, fruit, malt
    • Taste
the smoke is stronger, red wine, grass
    • Finish
      medium long, smoke

  6. Feusi scored this whisky 90 points Connoisseur

Ha, that's a small explosion, smoke, peat, spicy and beautifully sweetness. Enormously complexity , spicy tobacco and black coffee. In the long finish the smoky notes on the palate hangs for long time. For me this is a classic, they are still there, the new bottlings with top whiskys, indeed.

  7. Willie JJ scored this whisky 91 points Expert Senior

Fantastic whisky. Incredibly evocative, almost like I was standing beside the cask with a valinch.
    • Nose
      this is amazingly complex. Thereâ€
    • Taste
Strong tea, strong mints, chewing tobacco and salt.
    • Finish
Tobacco and coal smoke. Long, lingering and ashy
