- A nice, strong bottling that calls for water. But this suits him very well
Grandma's rum pot, fat and oily, amarena cherries, vanilla sugar and blackberries
Very sherry-heavy as the color suggests, pleasantly mild and greasy-smoky with water
Long and soft
- A better single cask from Highland Park, good to drink, playing with water makes sense and fun here, a good replacement for my already missing Frankfurt Airport Highland Park
Slightly nutty sherry touch, light smoke, floral, like a sweet herbal tea, with the smoke comes bacon, tobacco, really like a piece of smoked bacon, with a little chocolate, the sherry goes very well with it, a little caramel, plums with a slight acidity, salt , after the first sip I clearly have basil, and then again a full load of chocolate and smoked bacon, with water much more floral, also a little lemon, moist tobacco, overall fresher and lighter
First the mouth has to get used to the alcohol, then chocolate, sour, plum, full-bodied, light smoke, salt, espresso, some oak, no bacon at first, the second sip is better, starts immediately creamy with a lot of chocolate, a little hazelnut, wow, now the taste explodes, which takes a bit of getting used to, now also slightly meaty, even if it's not quite the smoked bacon from the nose, even creamier with water, it almost sticks in the mouth, dark chocolate (without water more like whole milk), espresso, slightly greasy now, yes there is the smoked bacon, light smoke, exciting what water does here, completely different, but not worse
now it becomes somewhat nutty, dark fruit, dark, slightly floral, like a thin herbal tea, creamy
- Not a bad single barrel if you like intense sherry with young wood. A little too unbalanced for me.
