    A hammer. Thick, syrupy.
Far from the breadth and elegance of the 2003 and 2004 bottlings.

Luscious sherry influenced nose, warm brine, dry pepper tempts you in. Raised expectations, surely only disappointment ahead, however don’t be put off if you have only sampled more recent examples. Glorious rich honeyed and sherries arrival, dry peppery development and long long spiced liquorice dry finish. Just fantastic, would anyone like to swap the couple of 2018 bottled vintage I have for one of these. No don’t be a fool, this is fantastic.

[December, 2011] Together with friends I emptied a bottle that I bought for 44 Euro in January, 2008.

    In my old rating system (ten scales that translate into WB points: 50 - 66 - 75 - 80 - 82,5 - 85 - 87,5 - 90 - 92,5 - 95) I scored it 90. I took no notes.

Nose: Intense nose of peat and smoked ham, with water, notes of dried fruit emerge
Palate: Very peaty, smoked bacon, but also chocolate, caramel and raisins
Finish: Very long with a smoky sweetness
Overall: A powerful dram where a bit of sherry successfully underlines the typical Ardbeg flavour profile

A top glass. Very complex whisky, but no aggressive taste. Clearly an Islay -peated whisky, but shows much more than just the peat.

I remember back when I came across this bottle and thought, hmmm its about time to try this region, this brand out and give them a try! Well, I am a believer to, Ardbeg knows what there doing with whisky. I was firm about Speyside being the best whisky out there, and since trying this I now realize that it doesn`t matter where its from to be great, its all relative!

As there`s only one bottle code stated on the base, but this is supposed to represent all 2007 Uigeadail bottlings, here`s the complete (just the first documented of each day) bottle codes, thanks to http://www.ardbegproject.com again. For more details, please check there.

As for L7 325, that supposedly is the infamous Jim Murray batch...

  10. QuarterCentury scored this whisky 92 points Connoisseur

A fine drop of Ardbeg bottled at cask strength. A marriage of Ardbeg
from bourbon barrel and sherry butt which gives a sweet and smokey
finish to this malt. Uigeadail is the loch from which all Ardbeg water
flows. An absolutely stunning whisky, and following the demise of the
Airigh nam Beist this probably represents the best value in the core
