- Dirty peat with smoke. Some baked fruit. The finish is short. 22.5-22-21.5-22
- I’m not sure what to think about these editions that bear names that call forth sensations and images.. on one hand, it’s useful to have a trailer of the movie, to decide beforehand what you may be getting yourself into.. on the other, whisky tasting is such a delicate experience, it may fall prey to suggestibility and thus limit its creative potential.. so now i do smell a dirty maritime malt, but what would have been my associations if i hadn’t been told so in advance..?
yes, dirty, fat peat.. earthy and salty.. quite heavy aromas.. lemon oils and tar.. grease from a pan where bacon was fried.. underneath all the heaviness, some floral (violets) notes in hiding
spicy, bitter cardboard, limes.. very smooth, the combination of citrus and soft smoke makes me think of Kilchoman and the Traigh Bhan’s, so excellent company for my favourite island distllery
dry.. salt and pepper and smoke.. rather short, nothing obtrusive, just unimpressive.
