Archer scored this whisky 86 points

Of note: as we had slightly more spirit left over than went into bottle for Edition 1.1, Head Distiller Ned brought over some of that remaining spirit into Edition 1.2. The majority of it is new, and therefore slightly older, but it still contains a small percentage of spirit that was matured for 3 years, 11 months and 18 days.
Here I imagine that Edition 1.2 is a little softer than Edition 1.1, although both were filled with the usual 50% ABV. The nose, the taste and the finish differ just as little as in the comparative tasting Bannow Island 1.1 vs. 1.2, so here are the congruent notes:
-
Fresh and fruity with pineapple, green grapes, mild pepper. Honey and vanilla, Tropi Frutti gummy bears. Grated almonds, marzipan, milk chocolate, nougat. Green apple.
-
Discreetly powerful, creamy and mouth-filling. Dry wood, whole milk chocolate. At the beginning it has a certain sweetness, it just can't be identified. A little more taste ... applesauce made from green apples? Dried banana chips? Yes, in that direction. Malt. Caramel candy, sugar beet syrup. A touch of black bread. Mild flavor over time, resulting in woody dryness.
-
Medium length (sic!) And slightly dry. Here in the finish it is clearly malty and chocolaty. Fruit sorbet made from apricots and green apples.
