Bowmore has a nicely balanced smoke overall.
Still, that's too much for me at the moment. My fondness for peated-smoky whiskys is kind of gone.
The only thing left for me on Islay is Bunnahabhain...
Bowmore 15 and 18 have always been among my favorites along with Lagavulin 16 and DE and finished Laphroaigs.
Nicely integrated smoke, mild and smooth.
A certain fruitiness and sweetness is also noticeable.
Pleasant and not too dominant smoky. Overall fire smoke rather than burnt rubber or phenol.
Again very pleasant, delicately smoky and somewhat sweet.
Citus-fruity tones meet distant dried fruits. Some honey also plays a part.
A nice entry into the world of Islay whiskies.
Medium length due to the smokiness. The other accents recede into the background.
Pleasantly soft finish.
