After initial problems in his nose he got the curve again, he drinks quite well and for the price it was definitely not a bad buy
    • Nose
unfortunately a bit rough, floral, sweet, honey, nutty, air helps here, it becomes more pleasant, marzipan, plums, despite the initial sweetness, it comes across as quite dry, over time a little chocolate is added, grape-nut, he gets even better with time, espresso, it is definitely not completely overloaded, but the sherry fits very well and lets the Benrinnes get through, now also some raspberry, slightly effervescent, now not so dry, and always stings the floral through, thereby a little freshness, almost like an ice candy, after the first sip also clear toasted aromas in the nose, Ferrero Rocher, tobacco
    • Taste
oily, strong start, nutty, roasted aromas, creamy, plums, oak, espresso, fruity, drier at the back
    • Finish
Nuts, now the fresh and floral note comes through in the mouth, roasted aromas, hanuta, the mouthfeel becomes drier

    Meh ... Modern sherry style.

    Nose:
Sherry vinegar, fermented grapes, actually: late German wine. Wood dust. Nothing else at first. Well, yes. In the background two scoops of ice cream: 1x Malaga, 1x walnut. Still further back: some grain. The alcohol is very well integrated, just stings a little.

    Palate & finish:
The alcohol is extremely well integrated here, which is of course a big plus. Just before watery.
The whole thing tastes like a malaga and walnut ice cream with a decent dash of whisky and a late vintage wine. Fortunately, the sherry vinegar is no longer there. The wine and walnuts remain in the finish. A little too much discount wine ...

Conclusion: Well ... I think I'm already getting a headache. Okay, it's not exactly what modern sherry style means. No sulfur-vinegar-spirit mix. There is no sulfur here anyway. But I have the impression that you accidentally took a barrel that was supposed to blind the whisky drinker, then noticed this, rinsed the barrel well and tried to make the best of it.

Sweet and sour sherry nose. But only superficially, in the background brioche, yeast dough, a little vanilla.
Then sherry in the mouth, slightly tart, tart oak.
Finish sweet, sherry, tart oak ...

A whisky that no longer needs notes. Nice sherry whisky, tasty, replaceable.
