Zesty lime, margarita salt, with some soft, creamy white fruit notes. With some aeration, it becomes more fresh and aromatic.
    • Taste

Tastes like the nose, and feels like more than 40% in ABV. Nice complexity. Oily and chewy. Lovely fruit notes... white peach, Anjou and Korean pears... and loads of creamy vanilla. A hint of maritime sea salt, along with some earthiness -- cassava, potato, taro, and lotus roots. Lovely whisky. Great quality to price ratio.
    • Finish
      90 90
There is a bit of dryness throughout. Again, the earthiness at the end. This is a lovely whisky.

Children's mouthwash -- watermelon flavor. Don't ask me how I know this.

There is no way anyone can guess which distillery this is unless there's some insider info.

feeling - very nice dram! fruity, soft, rewarding! can imagine sipping that on a summer evening and would really enjoy it!

body - medium/full, drops appear rather quickly, some fast legs

  5. LeChiffre scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

A very nice, fresh and fruity malt with delicious exotic fruits. In addition, there is a noticeable tart to bitter oak, which is harmoniously integrated. All in all, it doesn't necessarily look like a 28J, and unfortunately too expensive for what is on offer (even if very tasty in itself).
    • Nose
      90 90
fresh and fruity with exotic fruits; Mango; Pineapple; Apple; some citrus; Mint; fresh hay; pleasant wood note (sawdust)
      - Nice fresh and fruity nose, looks ripe but not like 28J
    • Taste
      88 88
soft start without lack of strength; again exotic fruits (pineapple; mango); fish slightly tart wood flavor
    • Finish
      87 87
fruity; slightly bitter-tart spiciness; Oak (sawdust)

Great fresh malt! Looks more like a summer malt. Do not find it very complex, but has great, varied moments. Absolutely harmonious and round. Unfortunately loses something in the end.

At the beginning a soft, fresh and floral beginning. Some fresh hay, grain, slightly malty. It is also very fruity. Melon, mandarins, mango, pineapple, great exotic fruit cocktail. There is also a nice sweetness that looks a bit artificial, chewing gum sweetness. Above everything is a note of wood with fresh mint. The freshness is already there at the beginning, but with a little time it becomes recognizable as mint.
Great freshness, light nose. Something is going on there.
    • Taste
      89 89
Creamy, soft start. Full fruit again. Continues the fruit profile of the nose. Lots of exotic fruits. Mango, pineapple, grapes. Slightly tingling with a little oak spice. He doesn't have the variety in his nose here.
    • Finish
      88 88
Medium-long finish, becomes a bit dry on the back. Fruity, sweet, slight bitterness.

i would bet on Glen Keith - really great dram

you think 40.2% is too low - well it simply is pleasant and very smooth and I would not add water but I do not think that it is too low. Well chosen Jens!
