Light, almost clear amber shines in the Premium Snifter, a thin streak sticks to the glass wall ... A fruity mixture of apricots and hints of sour citrus fruit rises, dried yellow fruits are steamed on the nose, slightly floral herbs come into their own. Somehow the nose looks slightly bubbly and "out of round", minimally there are caramel and tangerine peel, a hint of fresh mint and nuances of eucalyptus while the high alcohol content tickles the nose here and there.
Shortly after the first sip, sweetness flashes, at the same moment a touch of black pepper covers the tongue, dark wood tones warm the mouth, and nuts appear slightly creamy. Dark yellow fruits, again floral or grassy notes, emerging intense sharpness and slightly bitter or tart wood elements. Suddenly my salivation is stimulated, the high alcohol content is noticeable in the palate and on the tongue, the tongue still looks slightly numb for a few moments from the almost 60% alcohol content.
Slightly nutty with a hint of caramel, the Balmenach sticks to the palate for a long time to warm, and remains of pepper and alcoholic spiciness tickle the tongue. The mouthfeel becomes creamier and smearier, hazelnuts appear more on the palate while dark yellow fruits stick to the cheeks.
