  2. KayMeertens scored this whisky 87 points Connoisseur

Blind sample of a small sample.
    • Nose
Apricot, sea salt, minerals, chocolate, apple, vanilla and caramel. Very coastal with gentle peat. Slightly vegetal as well.
    • Taste
Fruit, salt and peat in battle. Dried apricot, chocolate, oak, caramel, almond, white pepper and a slight dustiness.
    • Finish
Caramel, chocolate, peat, apricot and pencil shavings.

  3. Malt Hans scored this whisky 89 points Connoisseur

Fruity and spicy aroma, smoke, lemon, apple,

mint, ripe melon, nutmeg, fir branches and vanilla. Marzipan sweet

taste, pepper, smoke, cardamom, eucalyptus, resin and vanilla. Long,

    spicy and smoky taste.

  4. Willie JJ scored this whisky 70 points Expert Senior

For the most part this cask has gone a little over the top, but its worth it for the fishy finish.
    • Nose
Plenty of sweet fudgy notes here, but the fruit is more prominent than
it is on the other 30yo. This one is musty too with a definite hint of
bung cloth. Definite signs of age.
    • Taste
Barley sugars, citrus, stewed apples, but then dust, cardboard and
pencils. The wood has got to this one a bit, but its still enjoyable.
    • Finish
Sugar and sizzling kippers. What a great finish.

  5. Collector57 did not rate this whisky Expert Senior

Surprisingly fresh finish for what is clearly a cask past its best.
    • Nose
Rather musty but with gentle peat, some toffee and behind the mustiness some lemon I think. Unfortunately the mustiness spoils it
    • Taste
Better than the nose with the lemon more prominent, fresh wood shavings and some very mellow peat. The mustiness is much less than on the nose.
    • Finish
Quite a zing on the finish, which is looong. Yes, Willie, I can see where you get kippers, An interesting finish, where the musty flavour has now entirely gone.

  6. Roman scored this whisky 90 points Expert Senior

it is delicious and at 30 beautiful square
    • Nose
      metallic, sweetish, slightly smoky
    • Taste
slightly peaty, smoky but not much, pleasantly fruity and subtly sweet, quite strong for 30 years, angular and edgy, would have expected something softer
    • Finish
      long, sweet and delicious
