Loads of Honey, Vanilla, quite young you could tell but not too much, thym, herbs.
    • Taste
      76 76
Very flat, sadly. Oranges, honey again, very disapointing versus the nose.
    • Finish
      80 80
Delicate spices from the oak, very straight line, not much there asside from a basic low-range whisky. Quite soft but enjoyable for any beginner.

New make trough and through. Why would bottle this Deanston? Thank god i only tried a sample. Im a big fan of Deanston but this is horrible.

Pretty tasty, no youth since the opening, fresh and fruity, good to drink!

Nice whisky for a good evening.
Light alcohols, drinkable, floral-furktovy, youth is not so noticeable (except in color, but not coloration causes only respect).

    • Nose
Smooth bourbon profile with elements of pearl barley tones, bread mash / sourdough, Abbot pear, red-green apple, vanilla, cream, sweet, floral, cosmetic powder, there is a branded clove, but it is very muted, a lot of wood honey
    • Taste
Sweetness 8 out of 10, cloves, freshly cut young tree branch, Abbot pear, brewiness, tannins, foliage, very light when consumed, clove bitterness, citruses, caramel, other orchard and fruit motifs, woody honey.
      Very few spices, oddly enough.
    • Finish
      Fresh wood tannins, sweetness, bitterness

Nice and sweet on the nose and palate. There's some fizziness too but not much more. Light and pleasant. For the £12 I paid, it's a bargain. I'd buy it again for £20 or less.
    • Nose
Sweet orchard fruits, green apples, pears, shortbread biscuit, fizzy, citrus
    • Taste
Light, sweet orchard fruits, fizzy, slightly malty, nice mouthfeel, a hint of white wine vinegar, charred oak
    • Finish
      Woody, vanilla, a little spice

Due to the 40% vol. Alk. and the filtration, the Deanston loses important parts of its character and has a very flat aroma.
    Very uncharacteristic of Deanston

Bought this on a whim as it was £12 on Amazon. I didn't think it could be up to much as the duty alone on the bottle would be £11 plus the bottling, labelling and delivey didn't leave much money (if any) for the liquid itself.

I was pleasantly surprised however. A sweet malty easy drinking dram. Perfectly acceptable for a Tuesday night and punching well above its weight.

Elegant and very pleasing. Not too strong, not too sharp. The true sweetness of a bourbon combined with the clever taste and dryness of Speyside whiskies. The orange-peel rounds its up. Love it. Great product for an honest price. And a perfect day-to-day drinking dram.

Fruity nose with apricots, peach and a hint of vanilla. Pleasing with a stunning amount of sugar.
    • Taste
      80 80
Wow! This is a bomb. Really a crowd pleaser; dry and sweet with biscuits and peach. Hint of orange at the back. Sweets. This is a dram made to convert people into the world of whisky.
    • Finish
      70 70
Stony finish with grains and orange-peel. Kind of short finish with a hint of wax and some honey.

I really enjoyed this, much more than other reviewers it seems

Vanilla, Honey and a smooth easily sipping quality which I found very moreish.

For £29 a bottle I'd happily buy another

As the nose suggests, for me also a hint of Barley sugar and pear drop sweets in there possible some red apple sweetness.
    • Finish
      82 82
A sweetness and hint of the Bourbon Oak in there

Reminds me quite a bit of their Virgin Oak expression. Buttery and toffee notes. Inoffensive but that’s the problem. A higher ABV would probable improve the overall experience. And what is “Soft-Filtration?
