hui what a roller coaster ride
    it's really challenging and interesting
I expected more influence from the barrel, but maybe it comes out stronger with the other single case
so it is not a purchase candidate for me
    • Nose
red berries, bananas, vanilla, sweetness, slightly spicy, red wine becomes stronger, sweet chewing gum, warm,
      a nice pleasant nose
with water: very earthy, more wine notes, more banana, more vanilla, more red berries and the chewing gum is back
    • Taste
full, strong and oily on the palate
Oak, the alcohol at 59% no wonder, earthy, tart-bitter, lots of red fruit, later a strange note, slightly rotten eggs, gravy with herbs, leather, green herbs (savory, tomato)
with water: strange note, bitter wine, cardboard, light mushrooms, Maggie / Knorr spice mixture, hairdresser (like hair tincture or something)
    • Finish
      tart, wine, tanine, cardboard
with water: slightly coniferous forest, essential oils, becomes nutty,
      slightly astringent

  2. Tommyknocker scored this whisky 87 points Expert Senior

First, maple syrup, soup herbs, salty chicken broth in the nose. Then berries and a thick rum note. Interesting and inexplicable. Nice nutty and winey in the mouth, sweet herbal candy. Not too dry, not too sweet. Nice barrel. Certainly the most interesting from the "for Germany" series. But that doesn't mean "easy drinking" either.

  3. Monte Gehro scored this whisky 84 points Expert Senior

This malt tolerates (and needs) a lot of water.

Without water: very strong alcohol in the nose, literally stinging. Violent and sharp on the tongue.

    With water:
Fruity on the nose, slightly floral and herbaceous, depending on the amount of water still clearly noticeable alcohol. Lots of sweet red berries in the mouth, short to medium finish.

If you like malts aged in wine barrels, this is the place for you.

Interesting whisky with unfortunately little red wine note
    • Nose
      84 84
Grapes, white pepper, sweet red fruits, soap
    • Taste
      82 82
Grapes again, boiled fruits, getting sharper
    • Finish
      78 78
      Bitterness, inconspicuous, not very complex
