How odd, those blurbs of text on the bottles of these SMWS.... it is almost as if this whisky was matured in an ex-Ardmore cask...the highland peat is really there. And no mention whatsover on the bottle about smoke or peat....Furthermore a great fruity finish just like those lightly peated older Irish whiskies. An Amazing dram.

SMWS Tasting Notes: What a pleasing nose neat, sunny blossoms, juicy fruit, sweet vanilla, toasted coconut and a hint of wax polish – a bouquet of a summery perfume! The taste was like an effervescent burst of refreshing sweet fruity flavours balanced by high acidity so characteristically found in Sauternes wines. Water released plenty of lemon aromas, bonbons, sherbet and freshly made old fashioned lemonade next to small sweets and sugar-coated jellies in a paper bag. On the palate a lemon curd bread-and-butter pudding sprinkled with plenty of brown sugar and served with a glass of golden-coloured Tokaji wine appeared.
