Red berries upfront. Cranberries, rasberries, sour cherries. Some dried plums and figs. A light touch of malt and yeast. Green herbal characters of aniseed and thyme. Burnt caramel and some cocoa as well. Cooling menthol. Sweet Christmas cake spices with cinnamon, clove and nutmeg. Some burnt matchsticks. Ginger and white pepper give this some heat. Some sulphur notes of burnt matches as well at the end.

Slightly viscous. Less tart and much sweeter here than the nose initially suggests. Demarara sugar, honey and toffee. Sweet red berries and stewed fruits. Sight alcohol burn. Liquorice mints. Dark chocolate. Less peppery but some ginger spice. Grapefruits. More baking spices. A slight hazelnut note on the palate that I did not get on the nose. That slight malt note continues onto the palate.

Medium in length. A certain tannic quality on the finish. very drying. and a touch too spicy at first. Then more burnt caramel sweetness. Less malt. A prickle of cracked black pepper. More cooling mint and that liquorice note.
