- We have released this bottle on Friday 19th of February. This was done by placing it on Whiskybase.com and create a small news item. We wanted to give the most active members of Whiskybase the first chance of purchasing the bottle.
- Purchased upon its release, my second sampling of these milestone bottlings. For a moment, I thought this could be a Clynelish with some waxiness and notes of honey and vanilla. The nose is close to the official tasting notes with orchard fruits as well. More apples on the palate, macintosh, with more of the crisp, zesty notes. I also get some of the toffee. Good spicy finish, as described as medium-long with a lingering creaminess. A proper speysider, straightforward but not completely devoid of complexity. Good, easy drinker indeed!
- Hay cereals honey green fruits stone fruits citrus toffee, a pleasant whisky
Vanilla with oak, pear and apples. A delicious "päronsplitt" nose.
Clear bourbon influences, sweetness, vanilla and oakiness.
Long long finish with vanilla and oak.
- Fresh, fruity and powerful, but also rather dry and austere if not to say a tad bitter
Very citric, fruity, dry hay, hints of honey, also apple, apricot and rhubarb, whiffs of vanilla, cookie dough, spices, little minerals, more on stone fruits, touch of butterscotch
Very punchy, fruity, citric, little sweetness, more dry hay, spices, ginger, more stone fruits, little leafy and herbal hints, lemon peel
Long, burning, more lemon peel, grapefruit, more spicy, zesty, herbal, a tad bitter in the end
