Like probably quite a few other users I bought this on a recent special for less than 25 EUR - which makes this bottle a cracking deal, as it comes NCF and uncoloured. The juice itself is not half bad as well, of course not an absolute stunner, but it's very clean, well made and balanced. Don't expect a sherry monster. It's a Glencadam, probably quite young, the distillery character shows and that is fine with me. I must confess though that roundabout 40 EUR would not have prompted me to buy it.

Very light and a bit shy at first for the strength, but it opens up after a few minutes. Simple pleasures is the key word here: Just a hint of sherry, some raspberries, a touch of milk chocolate and of sweet plum liqueur complement the distillery character with sweet barley, honey, citrus, wax and vanilla. A beautiful soft menthol note is creeping in after a while. It's nice and a bit on the light side and not too complex, but very pleasurable.

Sweet and fresh attack, youthful, but also silky and very full bodied, which is a nice surprise after the light nose. Now you can really enjoy the interplay between the bright Glencadam fruitiness (peaches, apricots, apples and lime) and the sherry cask (plums, raspberries, raisins, orange zest). It's a light fruit salad (although not a fruit bomb) with a subtle waxiness. In my opinion it's an asset that they didn't let the finish overpower the spirit. In the back of the palate a nutty, spicy oak note appears that leads the way to the finish...

Medium and delicate with mixed nuts, raisins and citrus fruits. A very nice daily dram, even though it does not have the crystalline classiness of the 10yo...
