Whisky Reviews for Glentauchers 2008 SV

- Powerful sherrry monster!
- Amazing: This Glentauchers tastes exactly like WID 129952, Tomatin 2011 from the whisky broker.
But: Although the Glentauchers is three years older, unlike Tomatin, it has an alcoholic sting in the nose and is biting on the tongue. At the same time, it has less of a distillery character and is "clean" in a bad sense. It's an interesting experience because the finish barrel obviously comes from the same winemaker. But: the diver should have been left in for at least another year. And the best thing would have been to use a more distinctive malt for this great barrel, not a Glentaucher. But a tomato or other highlander. If Speyside, then Inchgower. Or a grain !!!
Edit: The finish here is just as long as with tomatin. A little less woody, with a slight additional hazelnut note, but otherwise exactly the same.
- quite soft despite the huge strength, very good
