  1. Bosconius scored this whisky 87 points Expert Junior

Pale straw color. Tasted from a Glencairn neat, then with water. This bottle has been opened for some time, so might be muted, but smells fresh.
    • Nose
      91 91
Toasted marshmallows, brine, sweet smoke. Grilled pineapple. Lilac. The smoke brings memories of burning pine needles with a resinous, sweet, and evergreen minty quality. Some perceptible salinity on the nose. Wooden malting floors. With water, much less smoke showing. More malty notes and distillery aromas. 90-91

Medium mouthfeel. Comes in very hot, and burns sharply on the palate. A touch of juicy sweetness, though very brief, and transitioning to bitter smokiness and is drying into the finish. Some salinity on the lips with this. Disappointing, when compared to the nose, but not bad. At the current prices? A pass. I find significant improvement with water. Sweetness lingers more, although my father thinks the smoke is much more muted and prefers it neat.
    • Finish
      84 84
Very short, considering the price. And lingering heat. Improves with water with sweetness maintaining more of a presence on the profile.
