    2-3 drops of water
    And...boom, it’s perfect

  2. Archer scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

He got the curve again on the tongue and in the finish. Muff and mildew is not exactly what I would expect in the nose with such a filling. So there is an interesting interplay between nose vs. Taste / finish where the second-named team scores.

Musty, old and damp wood. Cellar modern. Mushrooms, damp autumn leaves. Cabbage. I'm still looking for the sweetness of the Madeira finish. Block chocolate, mild herbal mix. Muff and mildew are very distinctive and hardly let other aromas through.
After some time fermented grapes and blueberries. Honey, caramel.

Another picture then forms directly on the tongue. Starts warm and warm with beautiful grape and blueberry notes, accompanied by a dry, slightly musty base. Much more subtle than in the nose, there is a nice connection with the fruit. Dark chocolate, espresso beans, warm coffee grounds. Increasingly dry wood from old oak planks. Leather and tobacco notes. A little lovage, nutmeg and later pepper.
    • Finish
      88 88
Medium to long finish. Roasted orange peel, almond slivers, grated hazelnuts, fermented grapes, dark chocolate. Dry and - one might think - slightly smoky.

  3. Kantenmechaniker scored this whisky 88 points Connoisseur

So against the Sauternes of 2019, he loses significantly, very tasty whisky, but not 200 pounds tasty for me.
    • Nose
fresh and light fruity, sweet, marzipan, therefore also slightly nutty, orange, some mint, some leather, light spice, waxy, slightly woody, with time it gets a little heavier and then it also appears a bit ripe, sweet overripe light fruit, Peach with a slight acidity
    • Taste
oily, sweet, creamy, peach, slightly tart, wood, tingling, acid, slightly chocolatey, bittersweet, mint, hazelnut, overall fresh and creamy, but quite sweet, the intensity is ok and he doesn't need water
    • Finish
sweet, almost like the broth of canned peaches, then it becomes tart, chewed fruit bowl, remains slightly fruity sweetness, medium length

Absolutely delicious with exciting changes. Whether you have to pay the price ... but well that's another topic. At least you could buy it. That is more than with other distilleries at Feis Ile 2020. Full review (german): https://keinehalbendrinks.de/2020/08/05/feis-ile-2020/

I like it very much, scratches at the 90 points .... enough for very good 89 points.
For the 90, I lack a bit more complexity in my mouth.
    • Nose

Reluctant at first, then the alcohol comes. But flies quickly and a pleasant fruitiness takes over. Yellow stone fruit, apricots, mirabelle plums, but also apples and pears. A fresh citrus note is also included.
Up to now I have little Islay in my nose, which shouldn't be a bad thing, I'm more like a Tormore from Speyside.
A nice mix of herbs is added, maggot herb, thyme, tarragon. The sweetness goes more in a vanilla direction, not a fresh stick, rather processed in a creme brulee. The sweet wine character of the Madeira finish is also there and gives the whole a nice "coat".
    • Taste
      89 89
Intense attack, very herbaceous, dry, mineral. Quite creamy at first, but then quickly changes to dry white wine. Viogner from the south of France, dry, but still full and fruity. Grapefruit, green plantain, unripe grape, lime.
    • Finish
      88 88
Medium to long, dry, sweet, vinous, hardly any bitterness.
